Montgomery airport car service

Montgomery Airport Car Service to IAH and Hobby

Montgomery is a small town on the west side of Lake Conroe, and the airport ride starts with a country drive before it hits the interstate. Greg's Blackline picks up from Old Town, Bentwater and the lake neighborhoods in a luxury SUV and takes you to IAH or Hobby on a schedule built around your flight.

IAH and Hobby

IAH vs. Hobby when you start in Montgomery

From Montgomery, IAH is almost always the right airport. The trip is about 45 miles, you travel mostly on open highway, and you stay out of central Houston.

Hobby is possible and we run it, but from Montgomery it is a long haul across the city. Pick it when your airline or ticket requires it, and let us know so we can plan the extra time.

From MontgomeryTypical drive time
To George Bush Intercontinental (IAH)typically 55 to 85 minutes
To William P. Hobby (HOU)typically 85 to 130 minutes

Drive times depend on traffic, weather and time of day. Your driver watches conditions and adjusts the route.

Routes

How the drive works from Montgomery

  • SH-105 is the key road. It carries traffic east toward Conroe and I-45, and the stretch through Montgomery is often slower than drivers expect.
  • Once on I-45 south, you pass through The Woodlands and Spring before reaching Beltway 8 or the Hardy Toll Road for IAH.
  • Some pickups use FM 149 toward Magnolia and then SH-249 and Beltway 8 south and east, depending on where you start and what traffic is doing.
  • For Hobby, the route follows I-45 south into the city and works toward the Gulf Freeway side.

  • Old Town Montgomery and the historic district near the Lone Star Monument and Historical Flag Park, where we can arrange a clear curbside spot.
  • Bentwater, a gated community on Lake Conroe, where we need gate details in advance.
  • Walden on Lake Conroe, and the SH-105 corridor leading east toward Conroe.

Timing

When to leave Montgomery

  • Early morning: for a 6:00 a.m. domestic departure from IAH, we typically suggest a pickup around 3:00 to 3:30 a.m. because the ride is longer than from Conroe or The Woodlands.
  • Rush hour: SH-105 into Conroe and southbound I-45 typically slow during the weekday morning commute, so a 9:00 a.m. flight may still need an early start.
  • Returning: late-day northbound I-45 can add time on the ride home, and the last stretch on SH-105 is often slower once you leave the interstate.
  • Plan Hobby trips with the most cushion of all.

These are planning guidelines, not guarantees. Call or text (281) 500-8616 and we will help you set the pickup time for your flight.

Questions

Montgomery airport car service, answered.

Which airport is better from Montgomery, TX?

IAH, in most cases. It is the closer and simpler airport, and the drive stays mostly on highway. Hobby is available when your flight requires it, but the ride is long.

Can you get into Bentwater or Walden for pickup?

Yes, with advance notice. Share the address and gate access or guest-list details when you book, so the driver can reach your door without delay.

What route do you use from Old Town Montgomery to IAH?

Typically SH-105 east to Conroe, then I-45 south and Beltway 8 or the Hardy Toll Road to the airport. We may use another path depending on traffic.

Does SH-105 slow down the trip to the airport?

It can. SH-105 carries commuters toward Conroe in the morning, so allow extra time for a weekday early flight, and let us help you choose the pickup time.

How early should I leave Montgomery for a 7:00 a.m. IAH flight?

We typically suggest around 4:00 to 4:30 a.m., depending on traffic and your airline. Call (281) 500-8616 and we will set a time that works.
